DAY 21—How much we love others convinces our hearts that we know God. |
How we love others is a factor that determines how our prayers will be answered. Loving others as God gave us commandment, removes us from centering on ourselves. Jesus has told us that when we love others, we are loving Him. We see this in Matthew 25:1-13, where we listen to Jesus teaching about the wise and the foolish virgins. He then taught about the man who went on a journey and trusted his servants to invest what He had given them. This is in Matt 25:14-30. Then He taught about the judgment of the nations in Matt 25:31-46. If you will allow His Spirit to teach you, you will see the connection between these parables. The key to them all is Matthew 25:40.
I John 3:22,23—And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
Matthew 25:37-40—Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.
LORD, please give me a heart that will see the people around me who need Your Love. Please show me how I can love You by loving these people.
